Adaptations

Our whole life is basically based on how we adapt to our environment and especially to the people around us. It's like evolution. From the day we are made, we learn to adapt. I remember when I was just a clump of cells (ok, I don't remember.. Just taking it as an example ;p), in fact when we were all like that, we already learn how to multiply, grow organs, eat, urinate, pass motion and move about in our mother's womb. That's like our comfort zone and we adapt to it. After 9 months, our mothers decided (more like God decided) to pop us out into the world. Here we take our first breath, crying and kicking vigorously, wanting to stay in our comfort zone but we're out. Once again, we adapt to this different environment. As the years pass by, we learn to walk, hold things, speak, explore emotions, experience things and know people, other human beings. First day of school, meeting other children, teachers, gardeners, headmistresses and headmasters. We're wondering to ourselves, why can't we just stay at home? Why do we always have to move? Half our lives are spent in school, college, universities and workplace. Each place, different environment, different people. Then we get into relationships, fall out of them, get married, have children of our own, watch them grow up. Over and over again we adapt. When we grow old, our children married off, we are left alone once again. We learn to adapt and prepare for death.

A whole lifetime of adaptations. If we don't learn to adapt, we are left behind, we'll never advance to experience new things. It's a long journey. It's a tiring one. But we adapt.
