Anyway, I appealed to KL of course.. See how things go.. Just hope I don't get GHKL or Klang.. Pray pray pray! Raya Hols Part II

I've always liked jungle trekking with the exception of one thing... LEECHES!!! Seriously hate those blood suckers!! And there were lots of them when I went jungle trekking for Rafflesia in Gopeng... Sucky bucky man!
First stop, we got to see stick insect.. Can you spot it?

Can you see the 'sticky' fella?

It looks something like this laa...

Along the way, we met lots of blood suckers and other cool plants..

This is a wild ginger flower.. Pretty eh? :)

This is called 'Daun Tapak Hantu' where they get the idea from??

Meet Mr. Millipede :)

Rajah Brookes

Freezing cold river water.. Brrrr

After an hour of hiking on flat ground and up the hill we finally arrived at the place and this is what we saw..

Behold! The Bunga Rafflesia :)

This is a different kind of species, so it's smaller in size and does not stink at all.. Amazing eh?!

All in all I had a really good time and it was a great experience for me! Now I can say "Been there, done that!" :)

Raya Hols Part I

This Raya hols was pretty cool.. Although I didn't get to go overseas, unlike some lucky devil ;), but I still had fun! My family is kinda psycho a bit.. You know, when you are young, you go for adventurous trips right? Apparently in my family, if you fall into the 'retiring age' group, it's time to be adventurous! Anyway, this year we went to Gopeng.. Yea, you'll be wondering "What the heck is there in Gopeng that is so exciting??!!" Choon Seng commented I like to go to small, God forsaken places in Perak.. hehe

Rumah Rehat Adeline

So, this place called "Rumah Rehat Adeline" is a pretty good concept. The place is not a 5 star resort or 4 or 3 or 2... Maybe 1 star.. I wouldn't know how to grade a resort anyway. The place is filled with small wooden houses like the orang asli ones. So, basically a house with 2 ruang, one for sleeping and another for... lepaking? At least the house is equipped with light and fan. However, the toilet is a few meters away but it's quite clean and there's potty, not just a HOLE in the ground! The place not that kuno laa.. If you prefer camping, there's also a camping ground and tents are provided..

Rumah Dokong

Reading and sleeping in a hammock needs balancing skill

One thing I have to praise is the food!! It's GOOD SHITZ!!! There were 8-10 dishes each meal and it's mostly chinese food, the only thing is it's also catered for Malays :) So, it's PORK-FREE but it's still good food! yum yum yum

This is the Wonder Woman who did all the yummy cooking, Ms Adeline

There are a few activities provided. The most common ones are white water rafting, caving, jungle trekking and night jungle trekking. I defnitely had to try the white water rafting!! And I didn't regret it! They have a grading system to categorize the river rafting diffculty level. So, when we went, Sungai Kampar was grade 2-3 because it was after a heavy downpour. The super scary one is Sungai Padas in Sabah, grade 5-6.. I don't think I have the courage to go for that one. Even this river was scary enough.. hehe but it was an experience! Drank lots of river water and got flung overboard once.. had a few bruises and sratches here and there.. all in the name of FUN! :)

Before the plunge

Partially submerged by river water

Fully submerged plus being rehydrated with river water

Survivors!! hehe

United as One..

One of my good friend has finally taken the plunge! She was the first in the group to do so! Felt really happy for her and her hubby on this very special day :) On the morning of the BIG day, we were helping her get everything ready.. basically by just staring at her make up and dress up.. hehe

The lovely bride getting ready

The dress that is worn once in her life!

Then came the bridegroom to take his lovely bride away! This is the first time I took part as "chi muis" role hehe It was really fun! We get to bully the guys kao kao! :) Couldn't take any photos coz we were busy barricading the guys!

Next was the church reception. It was one of the most moving event!

Giving the bride away

Dinner was held in Smokehouse in Jalan Ampang. It looked exactly like the one in Cameron Highlands! The ambiance was really romantic :) However, the food was ok-ok only ler.. I think my lamb stew tasted way way better! keke :)

Great ambiance!

Congratulations my dear friend, Yi Hua and her man in her life, Ian!

Ps: Happy couple photos will be uploaded later... kinda lazy right now.. hehe

Wake Up Call

Every morning I'm greeted by this cute little voice..

Who could resist this 'alarm clock'

Yeap, my niece is my alarm clock :) She does not greet with those boring alarm clocks that goes 'teet teet teet' or those radio alarm clocks.. The first words when she sees me are "Babak Aunty!" hehe which translates to "Whack Aunty!" Then I would steal her pillows and blosters and she would say "Nanak Aunty!" or sometimes "Noooo Aunty!" hehe My morning wake up calls are always fun and it's a way to start my day.. with a smile on my face and my niece :)

Missing Memories...

It was Sunday afternoon and I was loading some of my friend's stuff into my car. Let's see, loads of boxes, travelling bags, guitar, bean bag, mirror... Wow! Sounds so familiar. It's like de javu. Just six months ago I was loading some of the exact same stuff! Here I was doing it again but it's for my friends going to a whole new place. Driving along the highway reminded me of the times I dreaded going back there but come to think of it, I kinda miss the place. The mandarin speaking people, the crazy drivers, the weird roads, the food (some diarrhea causing, some hmmmm-mmmmm) and of course, the hot hot weather there! Seeing my old rented house brought back memories, the living room where me and vj used to watch Singapore channel 5, then we would xbox till I konk out or lose to vj :p, the kitchen where "kupusamy family" lives (this is the rat family in the house), the bathroom where two of Kupusamy family members committed suicide and my room: my space and my shell where I hide away from the world :) It's amazing how 5 months there can change ones' perception of the place. Dislike at first, kinda like it, adapting, time to leave and now missing it. Yeap, I have to admit, I miss Batu Pahat...

Ah.. My "tempurung"

Vj's room raider!! ;)

Guess who's fault is this?!

Some were good times, some were bad times.. My missing memories..

Gwenified

After millions of thought whether to go or not, considering exams, my budget, will I pass my exams and all... I finally decided
IT WAS AWESOME!!! The line was crazy outside! My sis and I was like where the heck does the line ends??? And the people there... UNCLES AND AUNTIES! With KIDS!! Wat the heck man??! Do they even understand the lyrics of the songs? KIDS man! Anyway, while we were lining up, my sis was being a bitchy about the kids in front of us.. It was damn farneeee... she was in bitch mode man! haha

Loads of Hotlink balloons

The RM300 plus seats

The dark dark centerstage

Although Gwen looked like 8cm tall from where I was seated, the concert was really really really enjoyable!

Finally, 8cm tall Gwen hehe

awesome! awesome! awesome! Ok, here's short clips of two of her songs

Myvi vs Persona

I test drove the Myvi and Persona today as I waited for my Ah Mat to be serviced. (That service made my dad poorer... haish!) I drove the Persona first. It's like de javu, oh my goodness, this is Shungz Gen 2!! Inside is exactly the same, the steering wheel, the radio, the seats, the dashboard and the gear (well, slight difference I think). EXACTLEEEEEEE THE SAME! Moving to the 'buntut'.. wow! There is one! Unlike Shungz.. (I meant his Gen 2 ok! :p) ANYWAY, the boot is super spacious! I think it can fit like 3 Ericas in there, for example only laa ;) The drive was smooth and the gear change was quite silent, not much revving. Handling was good too. But it's kinda short drive to evaluate. It comes in black, silver, white, red, gold, grey and some weird bluberry tea colour. Thank goodness no orange (no offence Shungz) or light blue crap. All in all I was quite impressed with a Campro engine 1.6. As 'powderful' as my Ah Mat wei! But my Ah Mat is no Campro engine! hehe

Ok now about Myvi. Firstly, the salesgirl was not bothered to verbally advertise the car. Nevermind! The drive was a bit jerky as the accelerator was oversensitive coz when you just tap it a bit it jerks in front way too fast. And when the gear was about to change you must rev quite high and it's noisy! No need to say about the 'buntut' la.. But otherwise, the colours available are cool and the shape is pretty cute. So, it's more of a ladies' car! The special edition is kinda ah beng-ish so.. EW!

Anyway, just test drive the cars yourselves la and make up your own minds. I hope I can test drive my dream car one of these days...
MY Peugeot 407... On the way... Is the only way... hehe

So dependent...

My handphone is in the clinic and I feel like I have lost a limb. I can't function properly! Arrggh! I have become so dependent on such a small technology, the device that connects me with my family and friends. I hope I will get it back soon.. I feel so retarded without it *sob* *sob*

Ideal Son-in-law

Every parents' wish for a daughter is to marry someone who will take good care of their daughter. During our parent's time, what is the criteria for an ideal son-in-law? Is it
A. rich, handsome, same religion, older than daughter
B. old rich grandpa with many mistresses
C. somone who flatter the parents
D. someone who can make her happy

How many parents nowadays can say that as long as my daughter is happy with the guy, we won't object? Maybe only a handful. Parents will always have something against the guy because they are protective over their daughters. They want their daughter to have a perfect and happy marriage. They are afraid if their daughter choose a particular guy, she might regret it because he is not good enough for her or she deserves better. They expect their daughters to listen to them because they are more experienced, they have gone through it... They don't want us to make the same mistakes..
So, where do we as daughters draw the line? Who amongst us (daughters) dare to say, "Look, I really trust and love this guy and I am sure of my choice. I am going to marry him no matter what!" Do we choose love over family? Do we honour our parents or do we trust in our own judgement? Are we willing to take the chance and face its' consequences? Do we learn from our mistakes then or is it too late?
I for one seriously don't know...

Lost in translation

Hypothetically, imagine this, you are someone who only knows BAHASA MELAYU and was dumped in a country where all the movies apparently are screened in English or Chinese or Tamil, meaning other languages and you have to depend on subtitiles. So, let's say you're in a cinema watching this comedy thriller movie (eg scary movie) and you are laughing your guts out watching the show because of the stupidity of it and you came across this in the subtitle "pembunuh bijirin"! What the heck? Serial Killer was literally translated to "Pembunuh bijiran"??!! Is it just a typo or part of the movie? What if it was a super scary movie like for example "The Silence of the Lambs"? If people hear you sniggering in the middle of the movie, people would think you are enjoying the killings "a little too much" and consider you a psycho killer ie "Pembunuh psychotic".

The newspaper this morning was talking about this. Cutie pie was translated to kuih manis!

"Oh, kamu semua kelihatan sungguh manis seperti kuih manis!"
Help us all...

Please take note, it was a boring cold afternoon in Batu Pahat and I was fed-up of correcting my portfolios.. sigh..

Breaking Open Your Own Door for Dummies

This morning I was rushing to get my portfolio printed. So, I took all my stuff and shut my door. At the sound of the click of my door, I realized I left my KEYS inside!! Arrgghh! *Shitz! What a dummy!* First thought that ran across my mind! Then I remembered someone telling me that you can use a card to open the locked door. Okay, I analysed and tested it on an open door while wondering how the heck does the whole system work. Interesting... Let me illustrate it..

First, choose a soft plastic card. My makro card was finally useful!

Ok, next use the soft plastic card and try to "selit" it through the thin crack near the knob. Needs a lot of "maneuvering" and more bending of the card. If all fails just push hard hard!!

Apparently, the whole lock system was designed to be able to break open! What the... You know the door has a thingy sticking out at the side of it? Well, when you lock the door, you can't open from the outside but the thingy sticking out can still be pushed in! *Amazed*

Now you guys can go try it at home! hehe To make it more fun, time yourself!
Ps: Don't practice till it become like this laaa

Autobots, roll out!!

Remember this?

Yea, you know what I'm talking about! :) I watched transformers on the day it was premiered and it was good shitzzz!! They retained Optimus Prime's voice and the sound it makes when they transform.. According to my good fren, Jayman, it sounds like "eek ook aak aak" haha try repeating it a few times :)

Graphics was briliant especially when they transform either while they were static or on the move. And it's not about the type of vehicles, it's about the robots man! To add some humour into the movie was classic. You gotta catch it. And what more, you must add at least one cun chic to lure the guys or since it's a "guys" movie, let's say, to "excite them". ;) Storyline was.. ok-ok la. But all in all it's an action packed movie. Good tranformation from cartoon to a movie!

Weddings

There are three things that I like about weddings: Lovely couple, Friends & Family and of course Food! ;) I attended my cousin's wedding last week which was pretty cool. The only thing that I didn't like about it was, the process of getting ready!! And that means finding a dress and getting all dolled up! aarrggh! So not me. And if it's your relatives, expectations to look good is there man!
Anyway, the church wedding was good. Seeing them saying their vows and kissing publicly was beautiful. hehe And surprise surprise I met two fellas I know from uni. The world is small :) We are not related. Phew! hehe My cousins, aunties and uncles were all trying to coax my little niece to let them carry her. lolz It was so funny coz everytime someone wants to carry her, she says "Tak Nak!" hahaha She can advertise for No Smoking campaign! :)
The dinner was in Subang and the deco was normal la.. The menu was cool though, it's a CD case with a paper looking like a CD stating our food. Then there were introductions, altered frequency was their MC. Whoa, pretty cool! I didn't know my cousin knew them. hehe The food was normal chinese food, nothing out of the ordinary. Then came the chatting of course. As usual, you can't avoid the unavoidable. And since I'm the only one there who is still SINGLE, uncles and aunties shoot me loads of questions about boyfriends, when am I getting married, bla bla bla. hehe Then I was like, aiyoh, no one interesting la. Your daughter/son getting married soon ah? Let's bet who will get married next! hahaha
The next morning we had the Tea Ceremony at my uncle's house. Pretty interesting. I had to give my cousin ang pow coz I was like 4 months older than him! Damnit! hehe It was good to meet up with my relatives again. Fun times! :)
A toast to my cousin '" May you start a new beginning in this chapter of your life and may God shower His blessings on you and your family!"
